Com- pressor Thomas Products Division, Sheboygan, Wis. |
With enclosed designs in both the motor
and compressor sections, Taskair E Series articulating piston units are
built to deliver long, service-free life while standing up to wet and dirty
conditions. Key applications include air suspension systems, air brakes,
mobile and central tire inflation systems, and general mobile air sources.
TA-E Series compressors provide up to 150 psi (10.3 bar) of pressure. Maximum
flow is rated at 3.35 cfm (93.8 lpm). The compressors have an oil-less design
using dual cast-iron cylinders, high-strength stainless steel valves and
PTFE piston rings and skirts. Both 12 V dc and 24 V dc versions are available. |

Thermistor- type sensor Spectrum Sensors & Controls Inc., St. Marys, Pa. |
The Sens-A-Coil thermistor-type sensor
monitors the refrigerant temperature in condenser and evaporator coils.
This patented sensor integrates a fast response thermistor element into
a plastic overmolded copper clip specially designed to snap onto 3/8-in.
return bends. Sens-A-Coil features a sensor housed in a small bulb that
is attached to the copper clips. This design maximizes the sensing surface
area, allowing the sensing element to quickly react to any changes in the
refrigerant temperature and provide excellent thermal tracking, according
to the company. Previously, a number of "thermowell" or strap-on
designs have been used for this function, but they either were difficult
or time-consuming to install or did not accurately sense the refrigerant
temperature. The Sens-A-Coil solves both of these problems, the manufacturer
claims, and since no tools are needed for installation, time and money can
be saved in both production and field service. |

Dual- component dispensing Mixpac Equipment Inc., Salem, N.H. |
A dual-component dispensing system,
called the DX, includes a mobile handheld dispenser with a refill station,
providing a versatile and accurate solution for two-component material dispensing.
The DX System offers the ability to dispense 1:1, 1.5:1, 2:1, 4:1, and 10:1
ratios for two-component reactive resins. Multiple handheld dispensers can
quickly be refilled with one DXR refill station. The refill station uses
two transfer pumps that feed from five-gallon bulk containers of material,
each equipped with follower plates to handle a wide range of viscosities. |

Airflow monitoring Greenheck, Schofield, Wis. |
The Sure-Aire airflow monitoring station
is useful for HVAC applications where flow verification is required for
proper system balancing, improving air quality, and controlling industrial
processes. This system uses multiple pressure taps on the fan inlet venture
to accurately measure flow without the pressure drop and efficiency loss
associated with traditional flow probe monitors, according to the company.
The Sure-Aire station comes on Greenheck's mixed flow fans, plenum
fans, and single- and double-width centrifugal fans. |

Direct operated valve SMC Corp. of America, Indianapolis, Ind. |
The Series VFD direct operated poppet
valve is for use in Zero Pressure Accumulation conveyor systems. When incorporated
with a conveyor system's control logic and sensors, the VFD valve
controls the air pressure that is used for roller actuation and roller braking,
thus creating space between products on the conveyor line for efficient
transport of products without causing any damage, according to the company.
The Series VFD valve offers a coefficient of volume flow of 0.1 with an
operating pressure range of 0 to 72 psi to handle large pressure drops that
are found on long conveyor runs. The valve is available in 110 V ac and
24 V dc power supply with three electrical connections. |

Motorized gripper Behringer Saws Inc., Morgantown, Pa. |
A larger 3-meter gripper feed unit
on Behringer's HBP-413A-3000 automatic bandsaw is designed for increased
flexibility and productivity on the shop floor, according to the company.
The new motorized gripper feed unit has a single stroke of up to 118 in.
(3,000 mm) to deliver longer material cutoff lengths. This gives the user
a variety of cutting setup options. The gripper feed unit is designed with
a linear rail and linear bearings mounted on the fixed vise jaw side of
the bandsaw. The saw with gripper feed unit can cut solids up to 16 in.
diameter. The saw is controlled by a PLC. |
