Circular-chart temperature recorders Omega Engineering Inc., Stamford, Conn. |
The CT87 series uses any standard J thermocouple as a temperature input. The recorders have a 6-in. circular chart, LED digital display of temperature, and front-panel controls. Chart rotation time can be 24 hours, 6 hours, or 7 days. Models CT87LF and CT87LC allow selection from three ranges designed for low-temperature measurement in freezers, refrigerators, and ambient temperatures. CT87HF and CT87HC allow selection from three high-temperature ranges for use in ovens and other industrial applications. Units can be free-standing or wall-mounted and come in a polycarbonate case with a fold-down carrying handle. |

EDM systems Hansvedt Industries Inc., Urbana, Ill. |
This company manufactures manual and CNC RAM EDM systems ranging from a basic bench-size model to a large-capacity machine designed to handle workpieces up to 7,500 lb. Three-axis CNC models include the MS-4 Foreman, with a 16- by 24-in. work tank and 7- by 12-in. table travel, and the FS-2 Supervisor with a 30- by 60-in. work tank and 20- by 40-in. table travel. |

Pressure sensor SenSym Inc., Milpitas, Calif. |
The SDXD4 series is available in a side-port, DIP package configuration. Ten sensors are made in six pressure ranges from 0 to 1 up to 0 to 150 psi in absolute, gauge, and differential pressures. The sensors are trimmed to a 100-mV full-scale output to within ±1 percent. The zero pressure offset is also set to within ±1 percent. Typical accuracy (combined linearity, hysteresis, and repeatability) is ±0.50 percent of full-scale output. |

Fixed module Mesa Systems Co., Framingham, Mass. |
The IS module is the fixed (nonmoving) portion of the INPUD system. It is a microprocessor-based module that communicates with the INPUD systemÕs rotating modules
and to other stationary interfaces.
In a standard system, the IS conditions the power that is transferred and
controls the data transfer interface to the system's rotating electronics. It supplies a conditioned output from the values measured on the rotation parts as a digital RS-232/485 interface or an analog signal for process control or monitoring. The IS electronics are housed in an IP67 enclosure for operation in harsh industrial environments up to 70 degrees C. |

Shop-air assembly system Pace Inc., Laurel, Md. |
![]()
The MBT 250V and MBT 220V assembly, rework, and repair systems have been designed for shop-air-controlled, bench-top repair capabilities. MBT 250V comes with four SensaTemp handpieces; MBT 200V comes with two. Hand pieces and tips may be interchanged without recalibration. Both systems support any of the company's six SensaTemp hand pieces. |

Load cells Tedea-Huntleigh Inc., Canoga Park, Calif. |
Load cells are available for applications requiring the regulation of fluids and compressed gases. Models 1010, 1040, 1250, and 305 range in capacities from 3 to 1,000 kg. Model 1010 is an off-center load cell (3 to 90 kg); model 1040 is a low-profile, off-center unit (5 to 100 kg); model 1250 is a high-capacity, off-center cell (50 to 1,000 kg); and model 305 is an aluminum bending-beam cell (5 to 300 kg). |

Miniature accelerometers PCB Piezotronics Inc., Depew, N.Y. |
Series 352B60 ICP accelerometers have been designed for conducting vibration and shock measurements on lightweight structures where mass loading is critical. They incorporate a high-resolution, ceramic-shear sensing
element inside a 2-gram, hermetically sealed, titanium housing. Voltage sensitivity is 100 mV/g over a frequency range from 0.35 to 10,000 Hz (±10 percent). The four available connector configurations are 5 to 44 top, 5 to 44 side, 2-pin top, and 10 to 32 top. Built-in, low-noise microelectronics provide a low-impedance voltage signal that can be driven over long cable lengths with little signal degradation. |

Transit-time gas flowmeter Panametrics, Waltham, Mass. |
Model GP68, designed around a 32-bit microprocessor, consists of a sensing section, including two ultrasonic transducers, gas-tight insertion mechanisms, and an electronic hardware/software section to operate the transducers, make transit-time measurements, process the measured data, and output the results. It can be used to measure gas flow in pipes or ducts ranging in size from 1/4-in. tubing to major flue stacks of 25 ft in diameter or larger. |

RMS meter Newport Electronics Inc., Santa Ana, Calif. |
The Infinity C true RMS meter has been designed for ac-voltage and current-control applications. An onboard 5-A shunt allows connection directly to a current transformer. Two standard setpoints give the flexibility to control or alarm the system completely. The isolated analog output allows the meter to be turned into a smart transmitter capable of reading in one set of
engineering units and transmitting in a different set of units. Five standard ac-voltage and five current-input ranges are included. The meter has a four-digit,
14-segment, alphanumeric display.

Sleeve- actuated connectors FasTest Inc., St. Paul, Minn. |
No. 70 series connectors feature a spring-loaded sliding sleeve that is pushed to connect, eliminating the twisting and turning of clamping-style or twist-on-type connectors. They have stainless-steel bodies. A Buna-N main seal is included for high-cycle/production applications. |

Programmable limit switch Berkeley Process Control Inc., Richmond, Calif. |
An integrated programmable limit switch (PLS) has been designed for the MachineWorks tx direct-machine controller. The
Machine-Works PLS gives a servo-
controlled machine integrated PLS
capability, eliminating the cams, pegs, and programming of separate electronic PLS modules. PLS functionality is seamlessly integrated into a machine sequence with only a few selections on the touchscreen operator interface. |

Data- acquisition system Intelligent Instrumentation Inc., Tucson, Ariz. |
The EDAS-1002E-1 system provides 16 single-
ended and eight differential analog inputs at 12-bit resolution, two 12-bit analog outputs, and 16 digital I/O channels. The unit's A/D converter samples waveforms at up to 100 kHz. A
programmable gain amplifier extends the input range with gains of 1, 10,
and 100. Digital I/O channels are TTL-compatible and programmable as inputs or outputs. A 16-bit counter channel performs frequency measurements
and high-speed event counting up to 250 kHz. |

Chemically resistant valves Takasago/E. Clark & Associates, Northboro, Mass. |
MTV two- and three-way, soft-seal isolation valves have been designed to overcome the problem of valve-seat damage typical of isolation valves with fluoroplastic diaphragms by making the valve seat from the elastomer dai-el perfluor. It is a stable molecular structure consisting of only fluorine, carbon, and oxygen atoms. The valves are offered in a variety of chemically resistant, wetted materials, including PTFE, PCTFE, SUS-3126 (stainless-steel), and HPVC, and are available in orifice sizes of 3/64, 1/16, and 3/32 in.
