Geared step motor Oriental Motor U.S.A. Corp., Torrance, Calif. |
The Vexta CSK-TH series provides a high-torque,
five-phase, hybrid step motor and low-backlash gear head with a 24-V-dc board-level modular driver. Vexta CSK564BA is integrated to a low-
backlash TH-type gear head with five gear ratios: 3.6:1, 7.2:1, 10:1, 20:1, and 30:1. The step-motor gear head, CSK564BA-TG3.6, with a 3.6:1 gear
ratio, develops a running torque of 173 oz-in. at 5,000 pps. Step resolution is 0.2 degree per full step. CSK564BA-TG30, with a 30:1 gear ratio, develops a running torque of 555 oz-in. at 15,000 pps. Gear-head backlash ranges from35 arc-minutes on TG3.6 to 10 arc-minutes on TG30.

Digital pressure indicators Eaton Corp., Bethel, Conn. |
The DLR334 series has been designed for use in test-stand monitoring in manufacturing and as a transfer standard for testing and calibration of pressure-sensitive devices. Three accuracy ranges are offered accommodating pressures from inches of water to 10,000 psi. All accuracy statements are specified as "of reading" and are available as 0.05, 0.1, and 0.25 percent. The series includes RS232, RS422, and RS485 digital outputs as well as scalable analog outputs.

Displacement/ thickness gauges Olson Research & Development, San Diego, Calif. |
The model SC-01D displacement gauge has been designed for single-element (top-side) surface-
position measurement. The Model SC-02T thickness gauge is for two-element (top and bottom) thickness measurement. Accuracy levels of 2.5 microns are attainable even with 10 degrees F shifts in ambient temperature. The gauges work on conductive and nonconductive materials and can feed data into a spectral analyzer or PC-based data-acquisition device. They deliver 100 sample measurements per second at a distance of 0.250 in. from the surface of the material.

Reciprocating- machine analysis Windrock Inc., Knoxville, Tenn. |
The Model 6300 analyzer for reciprocating-machinery performance and
mechanical-condition analysis has been designed to rapidly acquire dynamic and process measurements at the machine. Equipped with a comprehensive software program, the 6300 provides detailed graphical displays and reports
allowing users to analyze operating and mechanical conditions of engines and compressors. The system captures and displays up to four channels of data simultaneously, including real-time data such as pressure and vibration versus crank angle, vibration spectrum, temperature, angular velocity, and ultrasonic measurements. Functions include calculation of performance parameters, such as horsepower and capacity, and recall of historical data with current data.

Rotary hammer Metabo Corp., West Chester, Pa. |
A 500-W, variable-speed, reversing D-handled SDS chuck rotary hammer, Model Bh E 6015 S-R+L, features electronic speed control for continuous variation of speed. The hammer has a 4.5-A motor with a no-load speed range between 0 and 1,050 rpm, and 0 to 4,900 blows per minute with a force up to 1.6 joules. The hammer can be used as a standard drill by mounting an optional chuck and activating the percussion stop. Drilling capacity is 3/4 in. in concrete, 1/2 in. in steel, and 1 1/4 in. in wood.

Compact clamps Jergens Inc., Cleveland, Ohio. |
Adjustable Micro Clamps permit a single hole location to accommodate clamps with distances to the part being held from 12 to 35 mm. The clamps feature a design with only two parts. A Òcam actionÓ is created by tightening a hardened-steel-socket cap screw with an offset head. The clamps are available with smooth or serrated faces.

Packing robot Hudson Control Group Inc., Springfield, N.J. |
PackIt is a robot designed for unpacking and packing bottles and other products into cases and cartons. It combines servomotors with pneumatic actuators. PackIt accepts the product to be packed on one conveyor, orients it for packing, and places it in a case on a separate conveyor. The robot packs each row or group of rows for each layer sequentially, and can pack multiple rows or even an entire layer in each packing cycle.

Metering pumps Jesco America Corp., Rochester, N.Y. |
Mechanically actuated series 2200 and 2300 modular diaphragm pumps, previously sold under the Proportioneer label, are available. Now offered is
a four-step pulley drive, a double-
diaphragm design, and an optional
electronic-stroke control (4 to 20 mA, featuring 0- to 100-percent adjustability and a NEMA 4x rating). The pumps feature low stroking speeds and rugged construction. Eighteen pump sizes cover the maximum capacities from 1.3 to 640 gph at operating pressures up to 150 psig.

Pressure transducers Revere Transducers, Tustin, Calif. |
The GP7000 series has been designed for the fluid-power market. The series incorporates thin-film, strain-gauge, and micromachined piezoresistive technologies. Because there is no adhesive used in gauge bonding, the output of the pressure transducer is stable over time and operating temperature ranges. The transducers are 1.12 in. in diameter and 2.75 in. long. Electrical output formats include 0 to 20 mV, 0 to 5 V, and 4 to 20 mA.

Step motors Pacific Scientific, Rockford, Ill. |
Powerpac hybrid steppers feature high torques per frame size. A large rotor diameter and rotor/stator design combine with magnetics in ÒhousinglessÓ frames to produce high torque and high acceleration. Available in NEMA-34 and -42 frames, the steppers are offered in two series. The N series, with holding torques to 272.8 lb-in., is the standard. The K series has torque outputs up to 356 lb-in. Both have high torque-to-
inertia ratios.

Proportioning
solenoid valve Dwyer Instruments Inc., Michigan City, Ind. |
Series SVP solenoid valves allow the control or regulation of flow in proportion to a 0- to 24-V dc variable-voltage input signal. Four models with different orifice sizes are available for Cv values ranging from 0.009 to 0.068. These enable maximum air flows from 7.4 to 53 scfh and water flows from 2 to 13.5 gph. The lightweight units can be supported directly by 1/4-in. metal-process tubing or secured to a fixed mounting surface via the 6 to 32 tapped threads in the base.
