The OM-2000 series of microprocessor-based portable data loggers has been designed to record and store data from one to six input channels that are individually programmable for nine thermocouple types and three dc-voltage ranges. DirectSOFT for Windows software provides fill-in-the-blank PID-loop-control setup menus for configuration and a PID Trend View to plot loop variables and display monitoring data. Four communication ports allow simultaneous interfacing with operator interfaces, personal computers, remote I/O racks, or other PLCs. MODBUS RTU and DirectNet protocols are supported in master or slave mode.

A resistance-temperature detector has been designed to allow users to snap off sections to create their desired length. The Stark Probe is made of a nonconductive epoxy-coated fiberglass material and provides electrical and thermal isolation of the sensing element to the meter tube. The 100-ohm probe is 18 in. long and is scored at 1.5-in. intervals that snap off.

Carbon-steel ball valves have been designed for shutoff in 1/4- to 2-in. sizes, pressure-rated to 2,000 psi in 1/4- to 1-in. sizes and 1,500 psi in 11/4- to 2-in. sizes. All valves are rated to 150 psi in saturated-stream service. The 1/4- and 3/8-in. sizes come with full ports for maximum flow. The 1/2- to 2-in. sizes have standard ports.

Ultra-Extractor Pro uses chemical-resistant rollers to extract liquid from soiled sorbents. The steel unit mounts to a closed-head 55-gallon drum and includes a built-in anti-spill valve. Large 19-in. rollers accept 18-in. pads with no folding.

The Platinum direct-drive linear (DDL) series is a brushless permanent-magnet design. Iron-core motors have a high rated force per frame size and an anticogging design without any need for magnet skewing. Peak force is 300 to 8,000 N. Ironless motors have no attractive force between the coil and magnet components and have zero cogging for smooth motion. Peak force is 120 to 800 N.

Model 394C06 has been designed for the rapid checking of vibration-measurement, monitoring, and recording systems. The exciter is driven by a stabilized oscillator at 159.2 Hz and at a user-selectable 1.0-g rms or 1.0-g peak (9.81 m/s2) vibration level. A servo-controlled suspension system allows verification while the shaker is held at any angle of orientation. The shaker operates for at least 60 two-minute calibration cycles on four AA batteries. Automatic shutoff prolongs battery life after each two-minute cycle.

The MCV line of two- and three-way soft-seal isolation valves has been designed to overcome the problem of particle-induced valve-seat damage, typical of isolation valves with fluoroplastic diaphragms, by making the valve-isolation diaphragm from a soft elastomer. The valves are pressure rated to 30 psi and have zero dead volume.

Rectangular expansion joint

Round-corner rectangular metal expansion joints have been designed without a miter weld. Any longitudinal welds made in the corner section are made on a flat-bed welding machine in the tube state before the corner is formed. By eliminating the stress riser in the corner, the fatigue life is increased by a factor of six over a mitered-corner design.

drum magnets

The all-electro agitator-type scrap drum uses a deep-field rectangular-core-pickup magnet to reach out and grab ferrous material. A second rectangular-core-agitator magnet flips, or agitates, the ferrous material to remove any loose mud, paper, fluff, or trash. The all-permanent-type scrap drum uses a deep-field radial-pickup magnet and pole shoes to convey or transfer the ferrous material around the drum shell to the discharge area.

The Love Controls Division has designed the noncontact series IRP Infrared Thermometer Plus with laser sighting for temperature measurement up to 30 m from the target. Series IRP has a distance-to-target size ratio of 50:1 and measures temperatures up to 870 degrees C with ±1-percent accuracy and ±0.5-percent repeatability. The thermometer operates on one 9-V alkaline battery in temperatures from 0 degrees to 50 degrees C

Clean-ACT low-emissions pneumatic cylinders are available in 3/4- to 3-in. bores and stroke sizes to 4 in. The double-acting cylinders include an extra set of rod seals with four sealing points and a vacuum port positioned between the two multilobed seals. A vacuum applied to this port evacuates the air and any particles in the event of a seal failure, thus protecting the clean product from contamination.

piece flanges

Van Stone flanges have been designed in nominal sizes ranging from 11/2 to 12 in. in diameter. The two-piece flanges allow alignment of bolt holes because the flange ring rotates freely even after solvent cement has set on the hub. The flanges are available in nine common sizes and will join thermoplastic pipe with diameters ranging from 11/2 to 12 in.
