New line of transducers and transmitters
Barksdale Inc., Los Angeles, Calif.
The 440 Series of intrinsically safe transducers and transmitters has been added to this company's X-Family of products designed specifically for hazardous locations. There are three models available: Series 443, a 5-volt transducer; Series 446, a 10-volt transducer, and Series 445, a 4-20 mA transducer. They offer process pressure ranges from 0-15 psig to 0-10,000 psig and 0-15 psia to 0-300 psia and an operating temperature range of -40¼ to 185¼F. Accuracy is rated at ±0.25 FSO (L,H, & R). Wetted parts and the external housing include a welded 300 stainless steel housing, NEMA 4X construction, and a 17-4 PH Series 300 stainless steel sensor. The devices have a standard 1/4-18NPT pressure connection and a built-in high-pressure snubber. They are UL and C-UL listed for use in Class I, Division 1, Groups A,B,C, and D, and Class II, Division 1, Groups E, F, and G hazardous-type locations, and they offer EMI, ESD, and RFI protection.

Elastomeric couplings
Lovejoy Inc., Downers Grove, Ill.
The new JIS 6-Pin Jaw In-Shear elastomeric couplings incorporate a new design that improves the no-tools elastomeric locking system, adds six larger sizes extending maximum bore up to 9 in., and introduces a JIS spacer-type series intended as nonlubricated, drop-in replacements for grid spacer couplings. The new couplings and rings fit this company's Jaw Coupling hubs, converting them for normal in-compression service to in-shear service. Converting to in-shear service doubles the standard Jaw Coupling's angular misalignment capability to 2 degrees and its parallel misalignment capability to 0.030 to 0.094 in., depending on size, while adding torsional windup of 5 degrees at full load for greater vibration-damping action.

Vibration monitors
Bently Nevada Corp., Minden, Nev.
Two new monitors have been added to this company's 1900 Series. They are the 1900/15 and 1900/17. The 1900 Series was designed to provide economical machinery protection where only one, or a few, points need to be measured on general-purpose machinery. The 1900/15 monitor can accept inputs from either the 3300 XL 8 mm or the 3300 XL NSv proximity transducer system and provides two levels of alarm: alert and danger. The 1900/17 is identical to the 1900/15 in functionality, but it is equipped with a 4- to 20-mA output in lieu of the Trendmaster 2000 connection.
