High-
precision pressure transducers

Omega Engineering,
Stamford, Conn.
The PX624 Series transducers combine photo-optical sensors with state-of-the-art SMD electronic circuits. These features provide accuracies of ±0.05 percent of span or better. For barometric and absolute ranges up to 30 psia, exceptional long-term stability is ensured by the inclusion of a "getter" material in the evacuated reference chamber. This material acts as a sponge to absorb stray gas molecules as they are released from the surface of the reference chamber. This ensures the integrity of the vacuum reference over time. Each unit is furnished with a 20-point certificate of calibration traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology.

Slides
PHD Inc.,
Fort Wayne, Ind.
The company's Series SD/SE slides are now available with Rodlok, which is designed to lock the piston rod while it is in a stationary position. When air pressure is lost or removed from the device's port, the mechanism grips the rod, which holds the attached load indefinitely. The slides have a slim profile and are available in five sizes with travel lengths from ¼ in. to 28 in. in ¼-in. increments. According to the company, they provide rugged, precise linear motion with minimal deflection. Series SD slides are intended to provide short travel in horizontal or vertical applications where slide length and weight are critical; Series SE slides have more space between the bushings and provide longer slide travel and better shaft stability. Both series offer a choice of linear ball bushings or the firm's TC fluoropolymer composite bushings, which have a thinner profile. Units are internally lubricated and are said to be virtually impervious to contamination.

Rotary paddle bin indicator
Monitor Technologies LLC,
Elburn, Ill.
The Model FS rotary paddle bin indicator is an electrical fail-safe version of this company's standard paddle unit. The new indicator incorporates an alarm circuit that activates and emits a warning whenever an electrical malfunction occurs. The indicator operates by sensing the absence or presence of dry bulk solids in bins, silos, tanks, and hoppers. When material is absent, the paddle rotates freely. The presence of material impedes normal rotation and triggers an alarm condition. When the paddle is stalled, a motor shut-off feature preserves motor life. Normal operation resumes once material drops and the paddle rotates freely.
