Resource Files Submission Guidelines

Following is a list of specific submission guidelines for Resource Files advertisements in ME. An image is at the bottom of the page for reference. Following these guidelines will help to ensure that your ad is placed in Mechanical Engineering in a way that meets your expectations.

To submit your ad.

Please follow these standards:

Your own custom ad may be submitted as late as the 2nd of the month prior to the issue in which you wish your ad to appear.

We do not guaranty the reproduction quality of ads submitted after the deadline.

Your ad should be in either .tif or Acrobat (.pdf) format. If Acrobat, no later than version 5.0.

Resolution should be at least 300 dots per inch (dpi).

Size is 2.167 " wide by 3" tall.

The bottom .5" of your ad is to be occupied by our standard company identifier lable and a reader service number. You can extend a background into the bottom .5" but no text. Graphics in this area should not be crucial to the meaning of your ad. Also, text is kept at least .84 inches from the left and right edges of the ad to form a "gutter" area there.Therefore the area in which you may place text is 2" wide by 2.5" tall.

If need be, we may slightly resize your ad to fit.

If extensive resizing is required, particularly if the height to width ratio of your ad varies greatly from our standard, we will ask you to redesign the ad. If we have to redesign your ad to compensate for a non-conforming height to width ratio, we may assess a design fee.
