Indexing plungers J.W. Winco Inc., New Berlin, Wis. |
This supplier of standard industrial
machine components now has inch and metric size lockout-type steel cam action
indexing plungers. With a steel, black oxide finish body, the plunger pin
is steel nitride. The jam nut is steel with a black oxide finish, while
the plastic sleeve is matte black glass fiber-reinforced nylon plastic,
not removable. These cam action indexing plungers are best used when the
pin needle is retracted. A groove is on the plunger so it can be held in
both positions. The plastic ribbed sleeve is designed to be aesthetically
pleasing and has a comfortable finger grip, while the nylon plastic sleeve
has a maximum heat resistance of 110°C (230°F). |

| Mounting
brackets Micro Plastics Inc., Flippin, Ark. |
The company's new series of wire
tie mounting brackets come in four sizes to accommodate ties up to 0.19
in. (4.83 mm) wide and 0.06 in. (1.52 mm) thick. The series covers mounting
screw sizes from No. 4 through No. 10 (metric screw sizes from m3 through
m5). The compact design is useful for limited space requirements. Parts
are injection molded in natural nylon 6/6. |

| Washdown speed drives Baldor Electric Co., Fort Smith, Ark. | Baldor has added washdown adjustable
speed drives to its H2 line. These new drives are rated NEMA 4X and have
from 1 through 10 horsepower. The new H2 washdown drives come in open-loop,
encoderless, and closed-loop vector and servo configurations. Baldor has
integrated its easy-to-use keypad into the new washdown H2 cover, making
programming exactly the same as the standard H2 drives. All H2 drives share
identical operator control, field installed options, simple programming,
common operating characteristics, and reliability. In addition, H2 drives
accept a variety of plug-in expansion boards to customize the inputs, outputs,
and feedback requirements. Baldor's optional Ethernet server board
allows point and click setup and off-site monitoring. The drives also include
a Òreal-time clockÓ feature providing scheduled maintenance
outputs and messages. |

Measuring rotation Celesco Transducer Products Inc., Chatsworth, Calif. |
Celesco's Model IT9420 inclinometers
provide angular measurements that are relative to gravity. An internal pendulum
is coupled to the shaft of an advanced, low-friction, very-long-life rotary
potentiometer. As the IT9420 rotates, the pendulum and shaft remain oriented
to gravity, generating a 4-20 mA signal output that is proportional to the
housing rotation. These rugged sensors are used to make angular measurements
in applications such as water gates, cranes, drawbridges, and industrial
automation equipment such as the dancer position in a continuous web process.
Available in a variety of full-scale ranges from 45 to 240 degrees, the
IT9420s have zero and span adjustments in order to set the 4-20 mA output
signal over a specific range. Both IP67 and IP68 (submersible) configurations
are available for the Model IT9420. |

Pressure sensors PCB Piezotronics Inc., Depew, N.Y. |
The Series 121A20/30 industrial, dynamic
ICP pressure sensors come in full-scale ranges from 100 psi to 5,000 psi
for ±5 V output and in sensitivities from 1 mV/psi to 50 mV/psi.
They feature all-welded, stainless-steel construction and a 1/4-in. NPT
pressure fitting (straight metric M14 thread is optional). The units contain
built-in microelectronic circuitry to deliver a clean voltage output signal.
Electrical case isolation provides shielding from electromagnetic fields
and eliminates ground loop problems. The series is available with either
a 2-pin MIL connector or an integral, molded, submersible cable assembly.
The hermetically sealed stainless steel construction protects against contamination
and permits use in harsh industrial applications. The devices offer the
ability to detect very small pressure fluctuations in the presence of high
static background pressures. Typical applications include detection of dynamic
pulsations, surges, water hammer, cavitations, and spikes in liquid delivery
systems, paper slurry systems, pumps, and compressors. |

Crank- shaft gauge Adcole Corp., Marlborough, Mass. |
The Model 1300 high-speed crank- shaft
gauge is an in-line instrument capable of measuring diameters, roundness,
cylindricity, timing angle, and stroke with submicron accuracy, according
to the manufacturer. Featuring a powered tailstock and part driver to permit
automatic loading, this gauge has a granite and structural steel machine
base and incorporates the latest technology in controls, air bearings, and
optical linear scales for end-of-line accuracy. Using a touch-screen and
Windows XP user interface, the gauge is for up to 1.5-meter crankshafts
and acquires measuring points at one-tenth degree intervals. Application-specific
programs are offered to provide routines for creating sequences to measure,
calculate, and output printed as well as plotted results. |
