Infrared cartridge options
Honeywell Analytics, Lincolnshire, Ill.
|
The company has added infrared cartridge options to its multigas Lumidor
Impact Pro IR portable gas detector. One of three IR sensors can be chosen
as one of the four sensors that come standard in a four-sensor, multigas
cartridge. Two IR sensors monitor for methane and other hydrocarbons, while
a third sensor option measures for percentage volume of carbon dioxide.
The cartridge also measures for oxygen levels and for a range of user-selected
toxic gases, including carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide, chlorine, ammonia,
sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen dioxide. Honeywell Analytics developed the
infrared sensors for advanced detection of flammable and toxic gases in
demanding industrial settings.

Temper- ature trans- mitters
Omega Engineering Inc., Stamford, Conn. |
The company offers two versatile temperature transmitters. The TX33 (priced
at $95) with loop-powered RTD input is analog, non-isolated with a 2-wire
head-mount that converts the RTD into a proportional, linear, and highly
accurate output current. It has easy calibration and low temperature drift.
The TX31 ($185) is an analog, isolated miniature transmitter with isolated
2-wire head-mount that converts thermocouple input to the voltage. With
an ultra-low profile design in cast aluminum housing, this sensor has long-term
stability. Both are multirange selectable and are useful in process control,
automation systems, energy source management, oil applications, paint and
spray painting and equipment maintenance in the transportation, petroleum,
construction, and national defense industries.

Intelligent motor
Animatics Corp., Santa Clara, Calif.
|
SmartMotor has an eight-pole compact
rotor design with more copper filling factor than in conventional designs.
According to the company, the new design achieves a higher energy density
as well as better efficiency that results in more torque capacity in the
same physical package size. The SM2315DT has high continuous and peak output
torques. It delivers as much as 112 oz.-in. of peak torque while maintaining
as much as 57 oz.-in. of continuous torque with a maximum speed capability
of 4,700 rpm.
